Yreka is in a time of rediscovery and reinvention. The recent pandemic, ongoing housing crisis, rampant wildfires, increases in homelessness, and calls for social justice and equality provide a backdrop for an important discussion on how the city will adapt to change, grow, and maintain its historic values in the coming years and decades. In 2021, the City of Yreka began a two-year process to comprehensively update its 2002 General Plan. This process, known as the General Plan Update, is an opportunity for the community to discuss ways that Yreka can become a safer, more resilient, healthier, and inclusive community in the years and decades ahead.
The city is in the process of developing the future vision of Yreka in 2044. We need residents, kids, visitors, and business owners like you to participate in the engagement process. Sign-up for the General Plan newsletter or check our events page below.
